Actually, I haven't had issues with my husband, but I do have issues with my son and daughter-in-law dealing with my grandson. I'm only allowed 15 minutes with him at a time on the phone. They live a long ways from us. I'm thankful for the time I get with my grandson on the phone or on Messenger, but he can't even talk about his day. When we talk and I ask him how his day is and he starts to tell me, his stepmom, my son's second wife, will tell him that he can't talk about it. He can't tell me anything so our talks consist of me telling him how my day went. When I have a chance to read to him, those are some of the best times we have. This way, he doesn't keep looking to the side to see if he's doing everything exactly as his stepmom wants.

At one point, I thought she loved him. However, her mom is controlling and she is behaving exactly like her mom. My daughter-in-law demands and he gets in trouble if he doesn't follow her every whim. The reason she gave me that I could only have 15 minutes on the phone with him is because he doesn't "focus" on the phone, which is a lie. I've spoken with him as much as 45 minutes previous to the last few weeks.

Anyway, thanks for sharing. I see that same kind of attitude as well.
